General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 40.4 percent of the vote. She competed against Greg A. Granger.

Education
Smith graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a degree in business administration. She earned her J.D. with a concentration in employment law from the Valparaiso University School of Law.[2]
Career
During law school, Smith served as a clerk for Lake County Superior Court. In 2005, Smith opened her law practice in Boonville. She has worked as a deputy prosecutor in Warrick County and serves as a public defender in Warrick and Vanderburgh counties.[2]
