A Stark County Library Levy Increase measure was on the November 6, 2012 ballot in Stark County, where it was approved.
This measure sought to renew and increase the current district library levy to one set at a rate of 1.7 mills for a further eight years in order to continue to help pay for library operation and maintenance needs. The current library levy is set at a rate of 1 mill and is set to expire, this levy would increase the current levy so as to further pay for library needs. Library officials noted that an increase was also added because state funding has continued to decrease and the library needs more funds to continue its services.[1]
