Stephen L. Bates was the chief circuit court judge for the Fifteenth Circuit, serving Carroll, Grant, and Owen counties of Kentucky. He did not seek re-election in 2014 and retired at the end of his term in January 2015.

Education

Bates received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and his J.D. from the University of Louisville School of Law.
