Approach to the law

When asked to summarize his judicial philosophy, Crampton has said, "It is to apply and declare the law as written; to understand the intent of the drafters; and to apply that law to the parties before it. By no means to be an activist, to look to bring an agenda to the court, but of course I bring those same principles to bear. I have stood for life and liberty and family all my career; those principles will inform my decision-making, but not dictate a particular outcome in a given case."[5]
