Thomas C. Groton III
Thomas C. Groton III was a county administrative judge and chief judge of the First Circuit Court for Worcester County in Maryland.[1] He joined the court as an associate judge on January 26, 1990, and became the county administrative judge and chief judge on July 1, 2010.[2] Groton retired from the bench on August 6, 2017.[3]
Prior to joining the First Circuit, Groton served as an associate judge and administrative judge for the Second District Court in Worcester County.[2]
Biography
Groton earned his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University in 1970 and his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1974. His professional experience includes work as a deputy city solicitor, the attorney for the Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning and Zoning Commission in Ocean City, the attorney for the Planning Commission in Snow Hill, and an assistant district public defender and an assistant state's attorney for Worcester County.[2]
