Thomas L. Perkins
Thomas L. Perkins is a judge for the United States bankruptcy court, Central District of Illinois. He was appointed on July 20, 2000, and his current term will expire on July 19, 2028. He was reappointed to a fourteen-year term in July 2014. Perkins was elevated and held the position of chief judge from January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2012, and was succeeded in that position by Judge Mary P. Gorman.[1][2][3][4][5]
Education
Perkins earned a bachelor's of business administration from the University of Iowa and a J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.[6]
Career
Prior to joining the court, Perkins was a partner in the following Peoria law firms: Vonachen, Lawless, Trager & Slevin; Quinn, Johnston, Henderson & Pretorius; and Kavanagh, Scully, Sudow, White & Frederick.[5]
