A Town of San Anselmo Special Paramedic Services Parcel Tax, Measure N ballot question was on the November 4, 2014 election ballot for voters in the town of San Anselmo in Marin County, California. It was approved.
Measure N was one of seven measures on ballots throughout Marin County which sought to continue to impose an annual parcel tax for four years in order to fund paramedic services. This measure continued the tax at the rate of $57 per parcel for the first year, but it increased the tax rate by $6 per year to a maximum of $75 per parcel. The tax was a special tax with revenue dedicated to paramedic services and no other purpose. The tax was imposed on all residential units and developed nonresidential property. A parcel was defined as one livable unit or 1,500 square feet of nonresidential structure.[1]
Thus, a one-family home paid:[1]
- $57 in the first year of the tax
- $63 in the second year
- $69 in the third year
- $75 in the final year
And a 15,000 square-foot business paid:[1]
- $570 in the first year of the tax
- $630 in the second year
- $690 in the third year
- $750 in the final year
A two-thirds (66.67%) vote was required for the approval of Measure N.
