Two of seven seats on the Mansfield Independent School District board of trustees were up for at-large general election on May 6, 2017. The Place 6 incumbent, Daniel Gallagher, did not file for re-election. The open seat attracted nine candidates: Darrell Sneed, Jessica Camacho, Breton Hawkins, Carl Lindstrom, Scott Marburger, Houston Mitchell, Joshua Spare, Troy Washington, and Samer Yacoub. Because none of the Place 6 candidates received a majority vote, Sneed and Camacho advanced to a runoff election on June 10, 2017. Sneed won the Place 6 seat.[1] The Place 7 incumbent Courtney Lackey Wilson defeated challenger Kevin Robedee in her bid for re-election.[2]
