Utah 3rd District Court Judge Named

Salt Lake City, Utah: Todd M. Shaughnessy, a partner at the Snell & Wilmer law firm located in Salt Lake City, has been appointed judge of the Utah Third Judicial District Court.[1]
Gary Herbert, the Governor of Utah, appointed Shaughnessy, saying that "Todd brings a wealth of experience to the court. He has demonstrated his keen legal abilities representing Utah businesses and individuals in high-profile, high-stakes litigation. I have no doubt his intellect and dedication will prove invaluable on the bench."[1]
Shaughnessy's credentials include earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah College Law, where he was the managing editor of the Utah Law Review. He is also a former associate at Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy. Furthermore, he is a member of both the Utah Defense Lawyers Association and the Utah Supreme Court Advisory on Rules of Civil Procedure.[1]
His appointment to the Utah Third Judicial District Court is still waiting for approval from the Utah State Senate.[1]
