William D. Walsh
William D. Walsh was a judge for the Onondaga County Court in New York. He was elected to this position in 2001 and retired from the court in December 2011.[1][2]
Biography and Education
Walsh received his B.A. degree from LeMoyne College in 1967 and his J.D. degree from the Syracuse University School of Law in 1973. Prior to graduating from law school, he served as a fighter pilot in the New York Air National Guard (1970-1973) and in the D.C. Air National Guard (1973-1975). He then returned to the New York Air National Guard, continuing to fly as a fighter pilot until 1991.[1]
Career
Walsh began his legal career in 1973 as an attorney for the Federal Aviation Administration. He left that position in 1975 to become an Assistant Onondaga County District Attorney. He served in that capacity until 1977. He also worked as a criminal defense attorney under the title William D. Walsh, Esq. from 1975 through 2000. In addition, from 1984 through 2000, he worked as a Geddes Town Court Magistrate. He joined the Onondaga County Court in 2001.[1]
