I grew up in Puyallup, WA. I’m a husband, father, and grandfather, who understands faith, commitment, and values. As a community member, I believe in being involved to give back to one's community and country. As an American I believe in the American Dream and that all people are created equal.

I’m a career U.S. Air Force veteran who was promoted to Colonel and has 15-years of public/private sector project management practice. In the Air Force and public/private sector I was responsible for community planning, engineering, construction, public works, logistics, fire protection, and security. I’ve led various organizations from a small project teams to a 1,000-person public support organization. I’ve managed annual budgets ranging from $25,000 to $100 million. I was a Deputy Director of a $2.8-billion capital construction program. While active duty and moving every 2 years, I was a leader in the Boy Scouts of America for 20-years teaching our youth life skills. I’m currently active in the community as a member of the Mason County Planning Advisory Commission and Transportation Improvement Plan Citizen Advisory Panel developing solutions for the Mason County.

I have master’s degrees in Civil Engineering and Strategic Studies combined with being a licensed Washington State Professional Civil Engineer.
  • We need more focus and to increase Public Safety. It is a fundamental responsibility of local government and a basic right of the people to be safe in their homes and community. The citizens of Mason County deserve a safe and secure environment to live and raise their families without fear of crime or violence.
  • We need a teamed effort to reduce Homelessness, Addiction, and Mental Illness. These are not only human tragedies, but also social and economic problems that impact Mason County. These are complex and difficult issues. We need leadership to bring together different stakeholders and partners to find and implement collaborative, compassionate, and effective solutions.
  • Mason County needs leadership to support growth. Economic Growth is essential for a prosperous and thriving community. The county needs a clear and shared vision for its future that aligns its efforts to attract new businesses, provide affordable housing, improve and expand the transportation network, and offer reliable and affordable utility services.
I'm passionate about protecting our community members and preparing the county of near term growth.
Integrity, an ethic for hard work, the ability to listen to others, and a willingness to acknowledge I'm human and can make a mistake.
The role of a County Commissioner is to serve the citizens of the county. This involves day-to-day management of county responsibilities and by proactively addressing issues facing the county. A County Commissioner needs to make timely community-based decisions and provide responsible and transparent funds management.
Watching Neil Armstrong walk on the moon with my grandmother. I was 7 years old.
I pruned Christmas trees in the Puyallup Valley for four summers. All the earnings in my fourth year were used to purchase my wife's engagement ring.
