ANCHORAGE, Alaska: The state of Alaska has asked Judge Michael Wolverton to sentence an Anchorage woman to 75 years with 25 years suspended but Wolverton ended the hearing by announcing that he would sentence the woman at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.[1]

Sherrie Ina Wilson of Anchorage pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for shooting Samuel Black, 75, at Black's university-area home early the morning of April 30, 2009.[2] Wilson's defense attorney Brendan Kelley made his argument that Wilson was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder when she killed Black.[1]

Assistant District Attorney Sharon Marshall stated that "She shot an innocent man who was trying to help her."[2] Samuel Black's son said, "Please give Sherrie Wilson what she deserves: a maximum sentence."[1]
