Julian A. Parker was a judge for the Orleans Parish Criminal Court, Section G, in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. He was first elected to this position on September 21, 1996. He retired at the end of his term on December 31, 2014.[1][2]

Career

Parker is a former assistant district attorney and federal prosecutor. He was elected to the district court in 1996. Since Hurricane Katrina, Parker worked extensively on cases involving economic and social damages caused by the natural disaster.[3]

Approach to the law

As quoted in The Christian Science Monitor,

I've developed a reputation, unfortunately, of being a jerk, but sometimes the lawyers aren't telling me the truth about why they can't present their cases, and my docket is a reflection on me, not a reflection on them.[4]
