There was a Merriam City Sales Tax Increase measure on the January 26 ballot in Johnson County for voters in the city of Merriam.
This measure sought to replace an expiring levy that was set at a quarter of a cent for ten years. This renewed tax is expected to generate $10 million in the ten years that it is in place and will be used for various capital improvements throughout the city.[1]
This measure passed
YES 1809 (75.22%)
NO 596 (24.78%)[2]
