In 2002, Millerick was chosen by newly elected Gov. Craig Benson (R-N.H.) to lead the Republican Party of New Hampshire. During her time as chair, Millerick oversaw the state party's efforts in the 2004 election cycle, including the presidential race. She left the position after the 2004 elections, when Gov. John Lynch (D) defeated Benson. Millerick told The Associated Press of their efforts in 2004, saying, "Our job as a party is to turn out the vote and I’m very proud of that. Over 100,000 new voters turned out to vote on Election Day and thousands of new people registered as Republicans; and I think we did our jobs well."

During the 2008 presidential election, Millerick served as part of John McCain's New Hampshire leadership team, which consisted of canvassers and organizers in the state. During the 2008 Republican National Convention, Millerick served as a New Hampshire delegate.
