Two of the five seats on the Hardin County Schools Board of Education were up for general election on November 8, 2016. Due to lack of opposition, both of the elections were canceled and neither candidate appeared on the ballot. Division 4 incumbent Kay Sharon was automatically re-elected to another term, while newcomer Dawn Johnson was automatically elected to the seat in Division 5.[1]
The Division 1 seat was up for election in 2016, but no one filed to run for the seat. The board appointed Andrea Palmer to the seat until the next scheduled election for the district.[2]
Results
Due to lack of opposition the election was canceled and Johnson was automatically elected.
