Lee E. Haworth was a judge of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida, serving Sarasota County. He was elected to the court on September 6, 1988, and took office the following January. He served as chief judge from 2007 to 2011.[1][2][3]

Though his current term was not set to expire until 2019, Haworth was required to step down in August 2015 under Florida's judicial mandatory retirement law, which mandates judges to resign upon turning 70.[4]

Education

Haworth received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Tennessee in 1967 and 1970, respectively.[5][4]

Career

Haworth worked as a chief assistant state attorney for the 12th Judicial Circuit until the mid-1970s, when he became a private practice attorney. He became the senior civil litigator for the law firm of Isphording, Payne, Korp, Muirhead, Haworth & White. In 1989, he joined the circuit court bench.[5][4]
