Susan Chapin represented Position 1 on the Spokane Public Schools Board of Directors in Washington. She was first elected to the board in 2007. Chapin won re-election without opposition on November 5, 2013.
Biography
Chapin earned her nursing degree from Washington State University. Her career experience includes working as a registered nurse and as Infection Control Coordinator at Sacred Heart Medical Center. Chapin has two children who graduated from Spokane Public Schools.[1]

Chapin first won election to the board on November 6, 2007. She defeated challenger Kitara McClure for the Position 1 seat to win a full term after her appointment in January 2007.[3][4]

"I seek re-election to continue my work on increasing graduation rates, expanding classroom program options, maintaining a strong presence of the arts in our schools and providing challenging academic programs that prepare all students for a successful life after graduation. I commit to assuring good stewardship of your tax dollars. My first term on the Board is proof that these are promises I will keep. As a parent and lifelong Spokane resident I know firsthand what our schools have meant to me, our community and their impact on the lives of our children for generations to come." |
