Portia Hampton-Flowers

Portia Hampton-Flowers ran for judge on the Tenth Judicial District Seat 3 in Minnesota in 2010.

2010 election

Hampton-Flowers was one of twenty-four candidates running for the seat. She was defeated in the general election.[1]

Education

Hampton-Flowers received her B.A. in political science from the University of Michigan in 1987 and her J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law.[2]

Career

After graduating from law school, Hampton-Flowers joined the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General. In 1999, she began serving as Litigation Manager for the Minnesota Department of Corrections. Three years later, she became Assistant City Attorney for St. Paul. In 2006, Hampton-Flowers was promoted in that office to Supervising Attorney of the Civil Litigation Division.[2]
