Ballotpedia Class

Ballotpedia Class was a three-part lecture series geared toward high school students. Students could sign up for 45 minute lectures on government and civics by Ballotpedia's subject matter experts. Our three lectures covered a wide variety of topics:

  • April 16: The Difference Between the State and Federal Government
  • April 23: Introduction to Campaign Finance Law
  • April 30: How States Select Their Supreme Court Justices

These lectures are now available to watch on our YouTube Channel. Teachers can share this learning opportunity with students by sending them the videos below:

Expeditions

Learning Journeys

Take a deep dive into complex political topics with the nonpartisan Ballotpedia. We offer several short, 3-5 day email series on political topics including how the separation of powers works, a review of how the civil service functions, and the basics behind presidential primaries. These emails are filled with examples, quizzes, and additional readings, making them a great foundation from which you can drill down into the areas that interest you.

Ballotpedia Insights is a Q&A series with political and legal scholars, researchers, reporters, and subject matter experts. Each installment, we host a new speaker and ask them tailored questions designed to gain in-depth insight into their work. Occasionally, we will select a book for everyone to read and hold a session with the author or authors afterward. These sessions are a great opportunity to learn from some leading professionals involved in politics.
