Pete Graham is a former member of the Griffin-Spalding County Board of Education in Georgia, where he represented District 5. He defeated challenger Tim Jones in the general election on May 20, 2014. Graham was unseated by Susan McDonald in the 2018 election.[1]

Griffin-Spalding County School System is located in Spalding County, Georgia. The county seat of Spalding County is Griffin. Spalding County is home to 64,073 residents, according to the United States Census Bureau.[2] Griffin-Spalding County School System was the 34th-largest school district in Georgia, serving 10,450 students students during the 2013-2014 school year.[3]

Demographics

Spalding County underperformed in comparison to the rest of Georgia in terms of higher education achievement and median household income in 2012. The United States Census Bureau found that 14.8 percent of Spalding County residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree compared to 28.0 percent for Georgia as a whole. The median household income in Spalding County was $41,534 compared to $49,179 for the state of Georgia. The poverty rate in Spalding County was 21.5 percent compared to 18.2 percent for the entire state.[2]
