Martin J. Tangeman
Martin J. Tangeman was a judge for Division 6 of the California 2nd District Court of Appeal. He assumed office in 2016. He left office on June 30, 2022.
Tangeman ran for re-election for the Division 6 judge of the California 2nd District Court of Appeal. He won in the retention election on November 6, 2018.
Democratic Governor Jerry Brown appointed Tangeman to this court in December 2015. The California Commission on Judicial Appointments confirmed him to the seat on February 22, 2016.[1][2] Tangeman left office on June 30, 2022.[3]
Tangeman was formerly a judge on the Superior Court of San Luis Obispo County in California.[4] He held that seat from 2001 and was last re-elected in 2014 for a term that would have expired in January 2021.[5][6] He was elected as the presiding judge on the superior court, effective January 1, 2016.
Education
Tangeman earned his B.A. from California State University at Fullerton and his J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law.[7]
