Meryl J. Berkowitz

Meryl J. Berkowitz is a judge for the Nassau County Court in New York. She has served in this position since 2000, following her election. She was re-elected in 2009. She has also served as an acting justice of the Supreme Court and the Integrated Domestic Violence Court since 2005.[1]
Education
Berkowitz received her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College in 1977 and her J.D. degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University in 1981.[1][2]
Career
Berkowitz worked for the Legal Aid Society from 1981 to 1996. She also worked as a private practice lawyer prior to joining the County Court in 2000. In 2005, she was also appointed an acting justice of the Supreme Court, Integrated Domestic Violence Court.[1]
