Illinois' 19th Congressional District
The 19th Congressional District of Illinois was a congressional district that encompassed a large stretch of rural Southern Illinois, part of Springfield and a portion of the "Metro-East" area (the Illinois side of the Greater St. Louis, Missouri region).
During the 2010 redistricting process Illinois had one seat in the U.S. House taken away due to population changes across the country. The 19th Congressional District ceased to exist after the 2012 elections.

On November 2, 2010, John Shimkus won re-election to the United States House. He defeated Tim Bagwell (D) in the general election.[1]

Illinois had one seat in the U.S. House taken due to population changes across the country. The 19th Congressional District no longer existed after the 2012 elections.
