I'm Rick McCreadie, I’m honored to run as a candidate for mayor. For nearly 25 years, I've lived, worked, and raised my family here in Spring Hill. • Smart Growth & Infrastructure I will address traffic congestion with updated transportation plans and partnerships to improve mobility across Spring Hill. I will develop a comprehensive infrastructure improvement plan, including new schools, upgraded water systems, and expanded roadways. Funding will be pursued through a mix of local bonds, state and federal grants, and public-private partnerships. Our city’s population has surged, bringing increased traffic congestion & pressure on our roads. As mayor, I’ll prioritize road improvements, better traffic management, and responsible growth planning to ensure our infrastructure keeps pace with our community’s needs.
  • Community Safety & Well-Being: I will also implement community programs to improve neighborhood relationships and preparedness. Public safety is the foundation of a thriving community. We need to support our police, fire, and emergency services while also implementing preventative safety measures like better crosswalks, traffic-calming devices, and well-lit streets. My commitment is to ensure every resident feels safe and supported, whether walking their children to school or heading to work.
  • Economic Growth & Opportunity: I will include plans for attracting new industries and supporting workforce training programs to create more job opportunities. Spring Hill’s economy has flourished thanks to our hardworking residents and strong local businesses. But we can do more. With my background in financial services and real estate, I understand what businesses need to grow and succeed. As mayor, I'll champion initiatives to support our small businesses, attract diverse industries, and create more jobs—while preserving the charm that makes Spring Hill unique.

The mayor's top priority in office should be ensuring smart, sustainable growth while maintaining fiscal responsibility and enhancing community engagement. Since the city manager handles day-to-day operations, the mayor’s role should focus on:

Setting a Clear Vision for Growth – Advocate for infrastructure improvements, responsible development, and policies that support long-term economic stability.

Strengthening Community Engagement – Act as a bridge between citizens, businesses, and local government to ensure transparency and public involvement in major decisions.

Advocating for Infrastructure & Transportation Solutions – Work with regional and state partners to secure funding for roads, schools, and utilities to support the city’s rapid growth.

Ensuring Financial Transparency & Accountability – Oversee responsible budgeting practices to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely on essential services.

By prioritizing these areas, I as the mayor can ensure Spring Hill remains a thriving and well-managed city that balances growth with quality of life.

I look up to a former boss and leader in financial services Jim Tew. Jim is a resident of Spring Hill and I have known him for 15+ years. Jim is a knowledgeable, ethical and a great role model.

Communication & Transparency – Keeping residents informed, listening to concerns, and being accessible.

Collaboration & Relationship-Building – Working effectively with city officials, local businesses, state and federal leaders, and community organizations.

The legacy I leave are with my children. I hope they learn that by working and consistently showing up to work they can succeed and live a very fulfilled life. That Family is Paramount and the time spent with their brothers and sister are times to treasure.

Join Me in Shaping Spring Hill’s Future

We will leverage our community’s engaged population to build volunteer initiatives and partnerships. Additionally, I plan to work collaboratively with each municipality and Williamson and Maury County officials to ensure that decisions made reflect the best interests of the entire county. Through regular intergovernmental meetings, joint projects, and open communication, we can create cohesive strategies that benefit all communities.

Leadership & Vision – Setting the strategic direction for the city and ensuring that policies align with long-term community goals.

Economic Development – Working to attract businesses, foster job growth, and support a thriving local economy.

Infrastructure & Growth Management – Overseeing road projects, water and sewer improvements, school expansion, and other critical infrastructure needs.

Public Safety & Emergency Services – Supporting law enforcement, fire services, and emergency preparedness to ensure community safety.

Transportation & Traffic Solutions – By Addressing congestion through improved roadways, public transit options, and better traffic management strategies.

Fiscal Responsibility & Transparent Governance – Ensuring city funds are used wisely, advocating for budget transparency, and keeping tax burdens manageable.

Education & Community Investment – Partnering with local schools, businesses, and community organizations to improve educational opportunities and civic engagement.

Open and Accessible Budgeting – Residents expect clear, easy-to-understand budget reports with detailed explanations of spending and funding sources.

Regular Audits & Oversight – Frequent financial audits and independent oversight ensure taxpayer money is managed responsibly.

Public Engagement in Decision-Making – Many believe in involving citizens through town halls, surveys, and referendums on major fiscal policies.

Ethical Leadership – Trust in local government hinges on ethical decision-making and clear policies to prevent conflicts of interest.

Smart Spending – Constituents want efficient use of funds with a focus on essential services like infrastructure, public safety, and education.

Building a strong relationship between city and state government requires clear communication, collaboration, and advocacy. Here’s how I plan to strengthen these ties:

Regular Communication & Engagement – Establish consistent dialogue with state representatives, senators, and agencies to ensure Spring Hill's needs are heard at the state level.

Advocacy for Funding & Resources – Work to secure state grants, infrastructure funding, and economic incentives that will directly benefit our community.

Collaboration on Policy & Growth – Align city planning with state initiatives, ensuring policies on transportation, education, and economic development are mutually beneficial.

Participation in Regional Coalitions – Engage with regional planning organizations, economic alliances, and municipal networks to drive strategic growth and problem-solving.

A Unified Voice for Spring Hill – Partner with other city leaders in Maury and Williamson Counties to advocate for shared interests and make sure we are all moving forward together.

My first job was starting my own neighborhood lawn mowing service. I did this for a few summers and was able to save up and buy a new tangerine colored Schwinn Continental 10-speed bike. Every couple weeks I would take my earnings to Montgomery Cyclery and they would write down my deposits until I had paid it in full.

Being the mayor of Spring Hill means leading with vision, integrity, and a commitment to smart, sustainable growth. It requires balancing infrastructure development with community values, ensuring financial responsibility, and fostering economic opportunity while maintaining the city's charm. A great mayor listens, collaborates, and works proactively with residents, businesses, and local government to build a stronger, more connected Spring Hill for generations to come.

What I love most about Spring Hill is the people, the quality of life, and the fact that it’s the best city to raise a family. The sense of community here is unmatched—neighbors look out for one another, local businesses support each other, and families thrive in a safe, welcoming environment.

That's a hard one, while I travel throughout the state I listen to a lot of books while driving. Last year I listened to over 214 hours of books. I like to listen to literature and fiction. I like to listen to books that are also read by the author like Tom Sellick's "You never know" or "The spare" by Prince Harry but I like a good true story as well like "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand or the Pulitzer Prize Winner "An American History Cuba" by Ada Ferrer.

Wanting to help people, there is only so much I can do 1 person is why I want to be Mayor. I can help a whole city have a better way of life.

I was visiting a friend last week and I asked to go the bathroom. As I was headed down the hall I herd their 2 young children, a boy and girl talking as they were taking a bath. The little girl said "What's that? The little boy said I don't know? The little girl said well can I touch it?? The little boy replied back "Heck No! and the little girl replied back why not? and the little boy said You can't touch mine because you broke yours off! LOL

If I could be a fictional character I think I would like to Robin Hood and how he like to help the poor.

The ideal relationship between Spring Hill and the federal government should be built on strategic collaboration, funding opportunities, and advocacy to ensure the city has the resources and support needed to thrive.

Here’s how I plan to strengthen this relationship:

Securing Federal Grants & Resources – Actively pursue federal funding for infrastructure, public safety, and economic development projects. Advocating for Spring Hill’s Interests – Work with Tennessee’s congressional delegation to ensure our city’s priorities are heard at the national level. Leveraging Federal Programs – Utilize federal initiatives that support small businesses, workforce training, and community development. Disaster Preparedness & Public Safety – Partner with federal agencies like FEMA to enhance emergency preparedness and response. Smart Growth & Innovation – Tap into federal programs that support smart city technologies, transportation improvements, and sustainable development.

the first historical event I remember was the 1970 Super Bowl I. Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs both teams were lead by future hall of famers Bart Starr and Lenny Dawson. The Packers won 35-10

The ideal relationship between the mayor's office and law enforcement should be one of trust, collaboration, and support to ensure public safety and community well-being.

As mayor, I would:

Ensure Proper Funding & Resources – Advocate for competitive salaries, training programs, and necessary equipment to help our officers effectively serve and protect. Foster Open Communication – Establish regular meetings with police leadership and community forums to maintain transparency and trust. Support Community Policing Efforts – Encourage initiatives that strengthen relationships between law enforcement and residents, promoting safety through engagement. Enhance Emergency Preparedness – Work with law enforcement and emergency services to develop strategic plans for crisis response and disaster preparedness. Champion Accountability & Professionalism – Promote policies that ensure ethical policing and continuous improvement in service standards.
