Shirley M. Kawamura

Shirley M. Kawamura is a judge for the O`ahu First Circuit Court in Hawaii. She was appointed by Governor David Ige (D) on October 21, 2015, and was sworn in on December 17.[1][2]
Previously, Kawamura was a judge for the O`ahu First Circuit District Court. She was appointed by Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald in March 2012 and approved by the Hawaii Senate in April 2012.[3][4]
Education
Kawamura earned a B.A. from Brown University and a J.D. from the Stanford University in 1997.[3][5]
Career
In addition to serving as a Per Diem judge for two years prior to her appointment, Kawamura has worked for Kawashima Lorusso, LLP and for the Hawaii Office of the Public Defender.[3][5]
