The New Jersey Public Question No. 5 was on the ballot in New Jersey on November 5, 1985, as a legislatively referred state statute. It was approved. The Simulcast Racing Act allowed racetracks to transmit and receive video of horse races, particularly out-of-state races, for betting purposes.[1]
