Georgia: The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia will have a new judge. Marc Thomas Treadwell was confirmed, with a vote of 89-0, by the Senate on June 20. He is joining the court to fill the vacancy created when Hugh Lawson took senior status.[1]

About the vote, Treadwell remarked, "“I’m very much looking forward to serving the people and residents of Middle Georgia.”[1]

Prior to joining the court, Treadwell was a partner with the firm Adams, Jordan & Treadwell. He also teach law classes at Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law.[1]
