Washington: On Monday, October 17, Governor Chris Gregoire appointed Marilyn Nitteberg-Haan, a Longview City Attorney, to the Cowlitz Superior Court. Nitteberg-Haan was appointed to replace Judge James J. Stonier who retired from the court today, October 31. Of the appointment Gov. Gregoire said, "Marilyn brings to this position an impressive legal resume and a deep connection with her community," Gregoire said in a written statement announcing the appointment. "That combination is essential to be successful in this role. I welcome Marilyn to this position, and know she will serve Cowlitz County well."[1]
