The Judicial Update

December 23, 2011

Nebraska: In the beginning of January 2012 three Nebraskan judges will take on the new responsibilities of presiding judge.

As presiding judges, they will serve as liaisons for their courts and be responsible for overseeing county court services within their judicial districts. They will also have to task of overseeing personnel matters within the district and assist county courts with local district policy decisions.[3][2][1]

The process of choosing a presiding judge:

Judges within their respective districts vote for one of their fellow judges who they feel is qualified for the position and then the Nebraska Supreme Court either approves or does not approve the nomination.[3][2][1]
