New Jersey lawmakers begin special session on "Cap 2.5"

TRENTON, New Jersey: Lawmakers in the New Jersey Legislature began special session on July 1, 2010, after Governor Chris Christie called them to deal with the state's property tax problems after the state budget was signed into law[1].
The Governor called lawmakers into special session to approve the Cap "2.5" Amendment in spite of Senate President Stephen Sweeney calling for a 2.9 percent property tax cap with more exemptions[2].
However, some lawmakers are not happy of dealing with a special session before the Independence Day holiday. This has led to some lawmakers planning to skip the special session in protest to Governor Christie[3].
A spokesman for Governor Christie said that he would plan to keep lawmakers in Trenton over the holiday weekend[3].
