A Boone County 911 Emergency Service Sales Tax question was approved on the April 2, 2013 election ballot in Boone County, which is in Missouri.

This question was put on the April 2 ballot by a unanimous vote of Boone County Commissioners and it will provide more than $9 million in revenue through an additional 3/8ths (0.375%) sales tax to fund 911 and emergency management services upgrades, including a new facility, new equipment and more emergency personnel.[1]

“ Shall Boone County, Missouri, impose a new county-wide sales tax not to exceed three eighths of one percent for the limited purposes of providing funding for a county-wide joint communications and dispatch center (911 Center), and for the funding of emergency management services, including the acquisition, improvement, construction, and equipping of facilities for said purposes and operating the same?
