This measure sought to replace the current school levy which is set to expire with one set at a rate of $3.37 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further two years in order to continue to pay for student programs and facility maintenance costs in the district.[2]

The Board of Directors approved Resolution #06-1112 concerning this proposition. This proposition would authorize the Elma School District No. 68 to levy the following excess taxes in 2013 to 2014 (in place of an expiring levy,) on all taxable property within to maintain current student programs, textbooks, and instructional equipment, maintain and repair facilities and equipment: Collection Year 2013-2014; Approximate Levy Rate per $1000 Assessed Value: $3.37; Levy Amount: $3,170,610.
