Estacada City Charter Amendments, 2 (March 2012)
Two Estacada City Charter Amendment measures were on the March 13, 2012 ballot in the city of Estacada which is in Clackamas County.
The citizens measures, 3-391, was approved
The first measure sought to amend the city charter so that urban renewal procedures would have to follow the laws set out by the state.
- YES 164 (35.3%)
- NO 301 (64.7%)
The second measure sought to amend the city charter so that any substantial change to urban renewal agencies, requirements of provisions would have to have voter approval before being enacted.[1]
- YES 371 (78.1%)
- NO 104 (21.9%)[2]
The second measure had been placed on the ballot by citizens and the first was a counter measure proposed by the City Council and placed on the ballot as a better option for voters. The Council noted that the citizen's measure will establish procedures which are not required under law where as the first measure would have allowed for a simpler system in regards to urban development.[3]
