A Jefferson City Trash Code Amendment measure was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the city of Jefferson which is in Cole County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 1,962 (25.71%)
  • NO 5,669 (74.29%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to amend the city code so that trash collection would be required for all residents but also eliminate the requirement that an authorized dealer would have to collect the trash.[2] The city enacted the mandatory trash collection and fee but residents sought to get a public vote on the issue via a petition.[3]
