Tom Brown (Kansas)
Tom Brown was elected the Mayor of McPherson, Kansas in 2009. He coordinated the Leadership McPherson program and is a member of the Master Facilitator Program of Kansas.
Brown said his first priority would be to "assure the city is fiscally sound and operating efficiently."[1] He outlined his plan to achieve this:
If there is a decrease in funding from the state and national level of government, we must have contingency plans. A succession plan to keep the city staff strong would be developed or updated if one exists currently. Second, develop a refreshed vision for the city that will guide our decisions over the next 10-15 years. Strategic areas of the vision should include broadening the foundation of the workplace, population growth, downtown plan, and residential neighborhood revitalization.
Election results
Facing Tony Fiedler in the general election, Brown received 1530 votes, winning by 828.
