Sherrie Phillips
Sherrie Phillips was the probate judge of Covington County in Alabama.[1]
She was released from prison on October 23, 2012 after completing her three year sentence on a theft conviction. Phillips was convicted of taking approximately two million dollars from an estate that lacked heirs. The money she had taken, which her office retained the custody over, was put into her personal bank account in 2008.[2]
Though she pushed for an early release in 2011, her request was denied by a judge.[2]
