About the project

This project was about building calendar-based information for events related to the judiciary. The specific goal of this project is to create a calendar page for each year, using the Judicial calendar 2012 page as a template.

Creating pages

Once a calendar page is created, information is updated automatically with categories added to the bottom of judge pages.

Components

Judicial calendar pages are created with a simple template:

Within that template, the following components are present on a calendar page:

  • [[File:JPCalendarLogo.png]]
  • headertabs with sections on judges with terms expiring by state, judges retiring by month, and news stories written by the Ballotpedia staff by month.
  • the vertical navigational template allowing individuals to skip to a month
  • tabs to allow readers to skip to the next or previous years
  • see also section
  • horizontal navigational template with all years
  • category:Calendar

Templates

These basic templates are available to be used in this project:

  • Template:Calendar. This template is installed at the top of annual calendar pages.
  • Template:Calendar years. This navigational template is installed near the end of annual calendar pages (right above category designations).
