Aram Ayra is City Commissioner, Health Educator, & Non-Profit Director running for Riverside City Council. Since earning his B.A. in Political Science from UC Riverside, Aram has worked in the higher education & public health field, addressing Riverside’s “brain drain” problem & local health outcomes. Aram has been active in his community for years, involved with the University Neighborhood Association and serving as a representative on the Riverside Mayor's College Forum and Riverside Neighborhood Partnership Board, respectively.

When the pandemic hit, Aram joined Riverside County's COVID-response team, connecting families & small businesses to financial & health resources. He also founded the Riverside Mutual Aid Network, which provides groceries for Ward 2 families & veterans, manages the Riverside Little Free Pantry program, & has infused over $15,000 into the local small business economy.

  • I am the only candidate that has publicly rejected campaign donations from corporate PACs, warehouse developers and special interests. I believe Riverside should work for the people, not special interests.
  • We need to address the root causes of homelessness, by reinvesting in the Office of Homeless Solutions, holding our neighboring cities accountable for their unsheltered individuals, and securing more State & Federal funding for mental health/substance abuse resources.
  • Address the City Budget and get expensive consultants out of the discussion around budget management and sound fiscal policy. Without stable financial footing, we won’t have money to fund critically needed services or keep jobs in Riverside.
- Public Health outcomes and social determinants of health

- Community land trusts & permanently affordable housing

- Sustainable local food systems
