|- Education is a life-long process, and educational opportunities should be provided for all ages.
- Housing is a right for all and we must work to keep people in their homes.
- Being unhoused is not a crime and should not be treated as such. We must invest to provide housing to our unhoused community.
I am also passionate about housing. Fremont continues to not meet its need for affordable housing year after year and we need to invest heavily in affordable housing as housing costs continue to rise and families are no longer able to afford to live in Fremont.
The unhoused community in Fremont has risen by 66% over the past few years while other cities in the region have worked to decreased their unhoused population. We need to expand on the housing navigation center and ensure that future Project Homekey application are approved after the previous one was denied by the state. We also need to establish a safe parking community with amenities as a safe place for our unhoused community living in cars or RVs to part.
