I am a third-generation public school teacher who was born, raised and educated in the Bay Area. I received my Bachelor of Music and Single Subject Teaching Credential from Sonoma State University and completed my Master of Education in Educational Leadership in 2021. In the Fremont community I am a music teacher at Mission San Jose HS, and am the Executive Director of Bands for the Fremont-based non-profit Tri-City Band Corps who provide free elementary student music lessons and music performance and student leadership opportunities for junior high and high school students in Fremont and beyond. I was also re-elected to a third term as the President of the Board of Directors to the non-profit Mission San Jose Parents of Universal Performers for the 2022-2023 fiscal year. My top priorities for the city council include increased cooperation between the Fremont City Council and the Fremont Unified School District Board of Trustees, increased affordable housing near public transit, supporting local businesses, housing and career development for our unhoused community and protecting our environment. I am endorsed by the Alameda County Democratic Party. I commit not to take contributions from real estate developers so you know my interested represent the people of our shared community. I would be honored to earn your vote to represent our community on the Fremont City Council in District 4.
  • Education is a life-long process, and educational opportunities should be provided for all ages.
  • Housing is a right for all and we must work to keep people in their homes.
  • Being unhoused is not a crime and should not be treated as such. We must invest to provide housing to our unhoused community.
As a teacher, I am passionate about education. I believe the city council should work closely with the school board to support the district and our students wherever possible. This includes working with Fremont businesses to create a job fair to intern or employ Fremont students over the summer.

I am also passionate about housing. Fremont continues to not meet its need for affordable housing year after year and we need to invest heavily in affordable housing as housing costs continue to rise and families are no longer able to afford to live in Fremont.

The unhoused community in Fremont has risen by 66% over the past few years while other cities in the region have worked to decreased their unhoused population. We need to expand on the housing navigation center and ensure that future Project Homekey application are approved after the previous one was denied by the state. We also need to establish a safe parking community with amenities as a safe place for our unhoused community living in cars or RVs to part.

I am also passionate about community engagement. It is important for people's voices to be heard. Everyone deserves to have their opinion heard and it is the job of a city council member to listen and reflect upon what was said to make their best informed decision for their community.
The first historical event that I remember was September 11, 2001. I was in elementary school and remember a number of teachers on campus being emotional.
My very first job in high school was as an instructor for the music program with one of the local middle school music programs. I enjoyed every moment and perhaps this is what sparked my interest to become a teacher.
