I'm a husband, father of 4, college graduate, and small business owner. I'm a conservative man of faith that holds God and family above all else. I have served on my child's elementary school site counsel and strive to volunteer as often as possible. As a small business owner, I have a very flexible schedule and have the ability to devote as much time as necessary to make our school district and the students as successful as possible.
  • Parents are key to the success of Gilbert Public Schools. Over the last few years the current board has ignored parents and made decisions influenced by state and national school associations and political agendas. I understand that parents are the school districts clients and I will listen to parents to make sure their best interests and the best interests of their children are always put first.
  • Our school board has allowed and even invited politically charged programs and subjects to come into our schools. These programs undermine family values and confuse vulnerable children. We have seen a sharp increase in mental issues and suicides and a decrease in stability and academic achievement. I will scrutinize all questionable programs and make sure all of our energy and resources are going towards tried and true educational curricula and student achievement.
  • I dislike how transparency between the school district, the teachers, and parents ever became an issue that needs to be addressed. Teachers are being encouraged by unions and so called "teacher support" advocates to teach topics that have nothing to do with education. Politically backed organizations are pushing teachers, against their will in most cases, to transform our kids into social justice warriors instead of teaching worthwhile academics. Our parents have to know what their kids are being taught and parents have to be able to trust teachers to work with them towards what is best mentally and physically for their children.
I am most passionate about my children and the children, families, and community where I live. I am passionate about anything that threatens the safety and education of our students. I am passionate about parent choice, school choice, curriculum transparency and managing a sustainable budget without asking for more and more from the community. I am passionately against critical race theory, social emotional learning, comprehensive sex education, whole child development and any other program that tries to take choices away from parents and families.
My primary function as a governing school board member is to create policies that enhance the education of all GPS students.
Parents of GPS students.
I will focus on education and academic achievement while supporting sports and the arts.
The best way to build relationships is with various members and organizations in the community is to ensure GPS students have the qualifications necessary to progress after high school. Whether a student choose higher education or to enter the work force, ensuring students are prepared with knowledge and skills to hit the ground running is the best way to build relationships of trust.
My intention of recruiting is to find the best and most qualified candidates regardless of age, race, or religion. Recruiting with the aim to diversify any organization ensures that organization will potentially miss out finding the best candidates in order to simply check a box.
The main issues that get in the way of education are political organizations that push agendas not in the best interest of the students. To address this I will strive to make student/academic achievement the focal point of everything I do.
Good teaching is measured by student success and academic achievement. This can only effectively be measured by student grades and test scores. I will take the emphasis off of annual standardized testing and support three standardized tests taken by each student throughout their k-12 career.
There is a huge need for students graduating with technical knowledge and experience in all areas of skilled trades. I will work with local business and local technical institutes to ensure our students have the opportunities they need to gain these skills.
Students deserve a safe place to learn. I will support one way in, one way out measures along with video confirmation before being granted entrance. I also encourage school resource officers at each school and additional "roaming" support to travel from school to school on a daily basis.
Working with the parents to help any student with mental health needs is crucial. School are not therapy hospitals nor do we want them to be. We need to train teachers to identify and report and let the parents take it from there.
I will always be available to parents in the district and always listen to their concerns and criticisms in order to better be able to work together for what is best for their students.
