Eleanor Provost was a judge for the Superior Court of Tuolumne County in California.[1]
Career
Provost became a judge in 1983. She was elected to the Justice Court in 1982, and served there until it closed. Provost was then assigned to courts across the state for six years. Before becoming a judge, she served as a deputy district attorney from 1977 to 1983.[2]
Elections
2012
Provost defeated Gregory Oliver in the primary election on June 5, winning 74.1 percent of the vote.[3][4]

Provost's opponent said one of his reasons for running was an expectation that Provost would retire mid-term. In response, Judge Provost said, "I have no plans to retire right now, and that’s why I ran. I’m enjoying the job, and I haven’t lost my wits yet."[2]
