Henry Herford, Jr.
Henry Herford, Jr. was a Libertarian candidate for the United States House of Representatives in the 2014 elections. He ran in the 5th Congressional District of Louisiana.[1]
He was a 2013 Libertarian candidate seeking election to the U.S. House representing the 5th Congressional District of Louisiana.[1] He was defeated in the open primary on October 19, 2013.[2]
Herford was a Republican and Ron Paul supporter until the 2012 Louisiana Republican convention, when he injured his artificial hip during a scuffle with off-duty police.[1] The altercation occurred after Shreveport police arrested Alex Helwig, the head of the Paul contingent, who along with Herford tried to start their own off-shoot convention.[1]

Herford ran for the U.S. House representing the 5th Congressional District of Louisiana.[1] The election was held to replace Rodney Alexander, who announced his resignation in order to take a position as the next Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs at the end of September 2013.[3] He was defeated in the open primary on October 19, 2013.[2]
