Howard H. Sherman was a judge of the New York Supreme Court 12th Judicial District. He left office on December 31, 2021.

Education

Sherman received his B.A. degree from the City University of New York, Herbert H. Lehman College in 1971. He then received his J.D. degree from the Delaware School of Law in 1975.[1][2]

Career

Sherman began his career in 1975 as an attorney with Bronx Legal Services. In 1981, he joined the NYC Department of Housing and Preservation, where he worked as an attorney until 1983. He then practiced with the law firm of Finldestein, Borah, Schwartz until 1987.

Sherman's judicial career began in 1987 when he joined the Housing Court of the New York City Civil Court in Bronx County. He served as the Supervising Judge of this court from 1997 to 2006. Also, from 2000 to 2006, he served as a judge of the Civil Court, Bronx County and an acting justice of the Supreme Court. He was elected to the Supreme Court in 2007.[1]
