Mary Jo Francis was a county judge of the Miami-Dade County Court of Florida. She was elected in 2000 and sworn in on March 9, 2001. Her term expired on January 8, 2019.[1][2]

Education

Francis received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Miami.[3]

Career

Francies began her career as a staff attorney for the Legal Services of Greater Miami. She later served on the company's Board of Directors from 1985 to 1990 and from 1997 to 1999. She spent two years as an associate attorney at Simon and duFresne and then, in 1981, she joined the Public Defender's Office. She worked there until her judicial election in 2000.[2][3]

2012 election

Francis was unopposed and was automatically re-elected following the Nov. 6, 2012 general election.[4]
