Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I was born and raised in Fresno attending Central Unified schools. I earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California Santa Cruz but returned to the community that I love. Now I have a seven-year old daughter that will attend Central Unified Schools, and I hope she gets an even better education than I did. Central Unified is a family affair, and I have the insight of both a recent student and a parent.

Central Unified is a rapidly growing district and it is important that we build new schools and provide improvements to the existing schools to keep up with our growing population. I will work to improve graduation rates and increase access to vocational education opportunities. I will work to partner with the City of Fresno to improve our often-inadequate walking routes to our schools. It is your taxpayer dollars, and I will watch over them like a hawk to ensure they are spent responsibly. I hope to earn your vote.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

• Expanding vocational education programs and ensure our students graduate with the skills needed to join and improve our modern day workforce.
• Improving graduation rates, reading and math proficiency so that students have the tools to succeed.
• Addressing the issues that have preoccupied Central Unified since I was a student here by fighting for smaller class sizes, more school buses and safe paths to schools, and improving student nutrition.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

As a recent graduate of Central High I bring the unique perspective of someone who has seen the issues our students face firsthand. As a young parent, I know that these issues have only gotten worse. We need more tutors and resources to get our students back on track, smaller class sizes, and safe paths to school.
