Thomas A. Breslin

Thomas A. Breslin was a judge of the Supreme Court 3rd Judicial District of New York. He served on the court from January 1, 2012 to October 28, 2020.
Breslin was elected as a state supreme court judge for the 3rd Judicial District on November 8, 2011 (effective January 1, 2012) for a 14-year term that was set to end on December 31, 2025.[1][2][3] However, Breslin resigned before his term ended and left the court on October 28, 2020. [4]
Prior to serving on the 3rd Judicial District, Breslin was a supervising judge for the Criminal Courts of the state supreme court in that district and an acting justice of the Supreme Court. He was appointed to these positions in 1999 and 1998, respectively. He also served as a judge of the Albany County Court from 1993 until 2011.[5][6]

Breslin was elected to the New York Supreme Court 3rd Judicial District on November 8th, after receiving 28.6% of the vote (according to unofficial election results). He ran as a Democrat for one of two open seats on the court.[1][7][8][9][10]

The Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commissions has rated Breslin as Qualified.[11]

Breslin received his B.A. degree from Boston College in 1968 and his J.D. degree from the University of Toledo in 1973.[5]
