|I am the CEO of USA Unites, a non-profit dedicated to engaging the next generation of peace builders in our country. Over the last six months, I have taught over 100 workshops in Seminole County Public Schools on how to build healthy relationships.
Prior to my role with USA Unites, I served as a pastor at Northland church from 1996 to 2021. In the span of those 25 years, I served in the areas of youth work while also helping develop global partnerships in over thirteen countries. Projects I oversaw included leadership training, the building of a school for orphans in Eswatini (southern Africa), anti-human trafficking efforts, micro-businesses, and various youth camps and conferences.
Sean did his undergrad work at Columbia International University, then received his Masters at Asbury Seminary in Leadership Development as well as a graduate certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell.- Academics: My focus will continue the great efforts for SCPS’s to thrive as an “A”-rated district by the FL Dept. of Education. We must continue to provide our students with the tools to grow in the areas of critical thinking, core competencies, and both quantitative and qualitative skills.
- Character: The Covid pandemic had an overarching impact on mental health and there is a clear need to support and continue to develop steadfast, mature students. In addition to critical hard skills, I want us to be the premier district in the development of strong character and social maturity among our student body.
- Family: From economic instability and international war to job uncertainty and illness— we have seen parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles, and neighbors that have become family pitch-in to help. I am committed to listening intensely to the voices and concerns of our families. I am committed to hearing new ideas and pursuing new paths to achieve our goals.
“Keep the main thing the main thing.”
The main thing for me is our incredible students—they are a gift to this community. I am committed to pouring my time, my heart, energy, and resources into the development of our schools, teachers, and administrators.
When our students thrive, we all thrive—our county thrives.
The last two years have been enormously challenging and at times, devastating to so many of our students and their families. I believe that now, as we continue to deal with the aftereffects of Covid, we have an incredible opportunity sitting directly in front of us. Our aim isn’t to go back to 2019. Since that year, we have become tougher, more resilient, more heartbroken but this has led us to be wiser, more compassionate, stronger and also gentler. Our aim is to take the lessons that we’ve learned over the past two years, and be better for it.
Guiding Principles
Seminole County is full of talent, expertise, and resources—both tapped and untapped. This generation of students is full of strength, passion and potential. Our teachers are dedicated and motivated.
I believe deeply in the next generation.
I believe deeply in our teachers.
I know we can produce local, national, and world leaders through our county.
I know our state’s diversity is a unique and enormous advantage and opportunity for us locally and for our nation.
