William C. Tucker was a district court judge for the 20A Judicial District, which presides over both Anson and Richmond counties in North Carolina. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Bev Perdue in March of 2009 and was elected to a full term in 2010. He was re-elected to the 20A Judicial District in 2014, winning a term that expired on December 31, 2018.[1][2] He retired on July 31, 2020.[3]

Education

Tucker received his undergraduate degree in political science and history from Western Carolina University in 1970 and his J.D. from the Wake Forest University School of Law.[5]

Career

After being admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1974, Tucker practiced law for over thirty years at the firms of Hopkins, Hudson & Tucker; Hopkins, Hopkins & Tucker; Tucker, Slaughter & Singletary, P.A.; and Tucker & Singletary, P.A. in North Carolina.[5]
