William K. Nelson
William K. Nelson was a justice for the Rockland County Supreme Court in the 9th Judicial District of New York. He was appointed to the court in 1999 and also served as a judge for the Rockland County Court from 1985 until his retirement. He was re-elected in 1995 and 2005.[1] Nelson retired from the bench on October 14, 2014.[2]
Education
Nelson received his B.A. degree from Howard University in 1966 and his J.D. degree from the Columbia University School of Law in 1971.[1]
Career
Before he became a judge, Nelson served as a public defender and prosecutor for Rockland County. He then served as a family court judge for the Rockland County Family Court from 1984 to 1985.[2]
